This course provides an introduction to real estate appraisal. The course focuses on the basic principles and practices of appraisal. It covers basic real estate concepts such as real estate ownership, egal descriptions, neighborhood analysis. In addtion real estate finance and the valuation process are covered. It covers the three major appraoches to real estate appraisal, the sale comparion (market data approache, cost approach and income approach). Data collection, site description, and improvement description is also covered. The course will instruct students in detail how to fill out the Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (URAR) as well as the importance of USPAP. This course is approved by AQB as well as IDECC.
